With various workshops of the technical committees the Summit of the ACI Germany is addressing again this year the circle of experts within its 1,500 members. The ACI committee ‘Money market and capital market products’ is focusing on current developments in the credit markets. Various speakers will illuminate the market sentiment from different perspectives.

TASS Wertpapierhandelsbank speech focusing on market tendencies in the credit markets

Together with other speakers, Carsten Ringler deals in this ACI workshop with the use of credit market indices for market prognosis. The iTraxx is often used as an indicator for credit default swaps. Using specific examples Ringler compares the historical courses of the iTraxx using the floater index of TASS Wertpapierhandelsbank as an additional indicator. He explains how with the help of the individual country, branch or currency baskets a more in-depth understanding of the market and wider reaching investment strategies can be won.

Carsten Ringler has been with TASS Wertpapierhandelsbank since 1998 in various management positions. Before this he was active in proprietary trading at the Deutsche Bank AG in the segments floating rate notes, commercial papers, short federal bonds up to 2 years and euro bonds.

Together with the executive board he has created strategies for company orientation, measures for the further development of products, for the opening up of new business fields and client groups and the further qualification of employees. He is responsible for the Neutral Pricing System, a market data portal for floating rate notes.

ACI, the Financial Markets Association is an internationally organized non-commercial organization of financial market professionals that promotes through education and certification the professionalism of the branch. The association with over 13,000 members from 60 countries maintains on the national level 66 state agencies.

The ACI Deutschland e.V. is made up of around 1,500 members. It represents the interests of its members which are engaged within the financial trading or sales environment, for example when dealing with supervisory authorities, ministries, central banks, associations and the media. The members organize the activities on a volunteer basis, in the seven technical committees as well.

There are technical committees for the following subjects:

  • Liquidity control
  • Derivates
  • Repo & secondary lending
  • Money market and capital market products
  • Asset-liabilities-management
  • Covered bonds
  • Forex

Objectives of the technical committees are the exchange of information between the commercial financial market and the central bank, the optimization of trade on the interbank market, the professional exchange of product innovations and focal points in the area product development, the support of personal and company networking in the European market as well as the education and certification of members.
